Finally got to shoot some birds with my 16 E. Preserve chukar since only wild birds at this time are snow geese and for that I'm a little under-gunned.

That is one beautiful E grade! Fine dog engraving. What SN range is it?

Thanks Rich,

Serial #356xx made in 1901. A basket case when picked up at auction and nicely brought back to life by Buck Hamlin.

battle,

Let's see..... absent left firing pin, few dents in barrels, buggered screws, short stock with absent checkering, broken trigger guard. I almost didn't bid on it at auction, but the engraving was just too nice to pass up.
And I really love the chain damascus barrels.
Mr Hamlin did nice work. Get lots of 'Oohs and Aahhs' when I bring it out to the local Izaak Walton for a shoot.

Buck done a nice job! What kind of turn around from Buck?
I have a F-grade 16ga you may have seen on here before. It has dogs on each side. It's a work not in progress yet. But hope to get it in respectable shooting condition before this fall.

I'd rather find the higher graded Lefevers in worse condition that needs a little help than a nice higher condition gun in lower grades. Especally in the small bores. But they are hard to find!

Nice E. It doesn't have a straight grip, does it?

I thought you had found my dream gun.

Nice gun, even with a PG. Mr. Hamlin did a great job, too.

Thanks

Really nice E, F&F. I'm particularly fond of the "lunettes", as opposed to "ovals" on the sideplates.

Buck Hamlin sure did a nice job of putting this one back in service, and I really like your choice of not doing a total restoration. Very tastefully done and good to go for another 100 years or so.
