I have always enjoyed the E grade engraving with dead bird in the air. I also thought the going away bird on the left sideplate was unique even if a little funny looking.

That is just one thing I really like about Lefevers over other makers is the engraving. Not only is it very well executed, but I think the engrgavers were given more latitude in subject matter. If one were viewing Parkers (for example) you can pretty well tell a P grade (#1) from a G grade (#2), the distinction is pretty well seen, same thing for most other makers. You can easily play stump the viewer with Lefevers, take the gun apart to see the watertable for the answer; and if it's a special order (no grade stamp) then the real fun starts bringing in novices and experts alike to debate, wood quality, engraving, action sculpting.... to figure out where it fits. I also think that LAC philosophy comes in to play. An E grade was a $100.- gun, the other gun companies held the grade the same but prices changed according to the economy.
