I have an H grade with ejectors and steel barrels with a serial number that would approximate to 1906. According to Elliott they would be "Nitro" or "Carman" steel as I understand it. I also am lead to believe that no barrel markings were used on these barrels at this time period. My barrels have a small elongated "diamond" near the forend loop on the left barrel as the only mark. Can anybody shed any light on this? I seem to remember a thread on this or an article sometime in the past. I also vaguely remember seeing this mark on I believe, Ithaca barrels in the Flues Era. I'm supposing it could be a steel company trade stamp or perhaps a foreign barrel suppliers stamp. Any thoughts out there gents . Lee. Confused
