Did anyone see this Lefever Arms Co. logo pocket watch on Ebay a few days ago? Is it an original period piece or a more modern reproduction?

I have seen those watches popping up all over the place on ebay with every thing you can imagine on the face. I have also read post on other forums and the suggestion is they are cheap fakes. It would be hard to believe that so many would start showing up all at the same time.

Several "antique" L C Smith watches were spotted about 4 months ago on Ebay, was wondering when the Lefever one would show. Now it has. If you want one, just watch and wait a week or 2 I'm sure there will be more.

These are just Novelty watches. I Noticed by searching on the web, you can find just about any old company watch with a logo on the dial face that you care for.

Three things I noted about the said pocket watch: 1) They don't give the makers name. 2) The watch faces are screen printed. 3) Not one Lefever catalog EVER mentions selling watches. Remember, Uncle Dan was very particular regarding the marketing of his name.

This is just another example of selling "stuff" that can be pawned off on the public as "vintage"; remember the "wells fargo" junk we saw awhile back?

Double Gun Regards

It would still be kind of fun to have one, as long as one didn't pay much for it.
