For those of you who haven't heard I am taking over as the RP (responsible person) for the Lefever Arms Collectors Association from Rich Brewster. I cannot begin to say enough to thank Rich for his hard work over the past 3 1/2 years in terms of managing the LACA and producing a newsletter that will be a hard act to follow.
My first effort has been to set up at Lefever Arms Collectors Association website. The address is:
www.lefevercollectors.com
I have been working with ADG, the administrator of the Forum, to promote a complimentary site that is no way meaning to detract from the forum. The website is not interactive in terms of having a discussion forum. There is a FAQ section and a section through which you can purchase LACA hats, posters, etc. to benefit the LACA. There are links to sites of interest to Lefever Collectors. The site will be updated with a collection of photos as time goes on.
Please check it out. The more "hits" it gets the more visible it will become to search engines. I welcome any and all comments, suggestions, and other input to help to promote the knowledge and collection of Lefever firearms and memorablia, and to promote membership in the LACA.

Dr. Bob,
Congratulations on the website. It's great to have the Lefever basics (Uncle Dan's bio, production dates, info on grades, and more) out there for everyone to see. I take my new LACA hat off to you! The website complements and in no way competes with the Forum and its value for all of us who are interested in Uncle Dan and his guns. Great job. There are now four main sources for Lefever info: Bob Elliott's great books, the LACA newsletter, the Forum and now the LACA website. None of them replaces or competes with the other. Each can do things for us that the others can't. Each has its own added value. _________________ Rich |

Awesome job on the website Dr. Bob. I have put a link to the site on the Daniel Myron LeFever wikipedia page. Hopefully this will bring some more visitors to the new site. _________________ great-great-great granddaughter of D.M. LeFever. |

I too wish to chime in with a Double Barrel salute to Rich, who is quite the gentleman, and to Dr. Bob for taking the baton. Having a Lefever/LeFever at the helm, is akin to having a "Ford" as CEO of Ford Motor Co.!
And lest I forget my good friend from Charleston; ADG, who's bulldogged efforts keep the Forum in good shape.
Can't wait to see #500 join the Forum...
Double Gun Regards to all. _________________ "Now then, get your weapons and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me."

Dr. Bob, you've got a tough act to follow. Rich has set a very high standard for the newsletter. Thanks to both of you for your willingness to support our hobby!
The new web site looks very good. Can a photo or two of each grade gun be presented to help with identification? |

In response to the request from Terry and a few others I have started to put photos on the LACA website. This will take a little time to complete as the task I assigned myself isn't as easy as it sounds.
I am trying to put "typical" examples of the various grades along with the production date since these guns evolved over time. However, a lot of Lefever guns aren't "typical". Out of my collection only 3 are pretty much as advertised in the Catalogs. The rest are either special orders or for some reason different from what was described for that grade.
For that reason I am asking for help in getting photos of guns that fit the catalog description for their grade. For this project I am not looking for rarities, special orders, or anything unusual. Maybe that will come later. I am still looking for unusual guns to cover in the newsletter.
You can send any photos to laca@hawaii.rr.com
This is a high speed line with lots of storage so please send whatever and as many as you want. You can be listed as the owner of the gun or remain anonymous as you choose. _________________ Great-Great Grandson of D.M. LeFever |
