Evening all! I'm fairly new to the Lefever forum. My grandfather gave me this NS (12 ga) when I was about 10 years old. It was the first "real" gun I ever shot - a big step up from my Red Rider BB gun. I also took my first deer with it. It is in poor condition, but means the world to me. The butt plate has been replaced, some holes in the wood, and the barrel has been shortened to 24". It collected a fair amount of rust before I inherited it. I only ever shot it a handful of times but now it stays put up anymore. I worry about shooting it too much with the condition that it's in. One day I might put some money into it and clean it up, but for now it's going to stay like it is. You might think it's ugly, but it's beautiful to me !! These are neat pieces of history! Yall take care.

Hi, Andrew, and welcome to the Lefever Forum! I'm sure a lot of us have fond memories of our first "real" firearm, but not all of us can say we still have it. The associations of family, friends and good times can never be removed from that gun. Glad to hear that it means so much to you. Please have fun here and contribute often!
Best Regards,

Thank you very much ADG ! I see you're a low country man ! My family ( mom's side ) is from Cades. I spend a lot of time on the family farm there. I learned a lot there and have very fond memories of the place. I love the slow pace of life in that neck of the woods. . . .
