Hey Lefever Guys!

Chris Dawe is a really good guy and a heck of a fine stock maker. Let's all post or send Chris what he need so that he can return a good Lefever to it's original glory!

The serial number and grade of gun you need would be helpful to us.

The serial # is not important as its an upgrade saved from the scrap pile ,I listed the grades I'm interested in with the first post .

Thanks again to everyone who has helped,I have most everything I need but I still need a good pic of the full length English /straight grip trigger gaurd.

Best,
Chris

Well, here she is so far ,the base was a DS 20 gauge ,26" bbls the wood was missing but everything else was decent , my chances of finding a graded small bore Lefever up here are pretty slim so I decided to build my own ,I could have sculpted the receiver, and I could have added cocking indicators ...but I wanted this to not be an attempt to "fake" a graded gun ,but for it to be my gun and at a glance all lefever, the engraving and checkering are aspects I liked most about various grades...I know this may not be everyone's cup of tea ,but I see it as a parts gun brought back to life .

when the checkering is completed it will be sent out for re case color ,and I'll be bluing all necessary parts [url]

That turned out gorgeous! Pretty enough, even, to silence any berating heaped upon modifications to LAC guns no matter the grade. Building up a gun to suit your preferences (even with a little help from some friends) has got to be highly satisfying. Wishing you the best of the seasons as they unfold.

Thanks for the kind words guys , I understand the sentiment with non modification and for the most part fully agree,I stress it to my customers actually.... in the day when these companies were up and running you paid your money and got what you wanted ...so this one was mine ,one I've searched for quite a while ,one I planned for just as long and one I hope to enjoy for quite some time and pass down some day.

You may have trouble shooting this little DS; its going to be hard to take your eyes off the gun to watch the birds.

Congratulations on a beautiful and well thought out custom!
