I've seen photos of the Winchester 21's owned by Chrysler, Bradley, Eisenhower, etc., and the Dodge brothers' L.C. Smiths along with Parkers owned by other famous people. I don't recall seeing anything of Lefevers owned by anyone of note, but in a Charles Waterman book I see a picture of what is obviously a Lefever and it's credited as "the Ithaca of President Benjamin Harrison". It's shown next to a Parker which is claimed to have belonged to General Blackjack Pershing. The Lefever's obviously high grade, but unfortunately there's no further information about it or the Parker for that matter. Could be a mis-matched picture, or the text should have listed the gun as a Lefever instead of an Ithaca, but do any of you know if Harrison or any other president owned a Lefever?

If you look at page 160 of Bob Elliot's "Uncle Dan Lefever, Master Gunmaker", you will see a testimonial from ex-President Benjamin Harrison dated December 14, 1894, in which he praises the gun made for him by Lefever Arms "several years ago". I don't know if anyone knows where the Benjamin Harrison Lefever is now. A lot of Lefever buffs would be very interested in knowing.

Photos on page 211 of Elliott's book shows a B grade 8ga said to have been owned by President Grover Cleveland.

The Benjamin Harrison home site in Indianapolis does not have the Harrison Lefever.
I have information from Bob Noble's list that it is a 12ga Special Order of Optimus quality with 30in fluid steel barrels and the initials BH on the forened.

I think the NRA museum in Va. has Pres. Cleveland's 8 ga Colt shotgun.

I can't recall where I've seen pics of the Harrison Lefever....maybe an old LACA newsletter.

I could be very wrong in this, but I thought I remembered someone trading that presidential Lefever for the first 410 Parker made. It was supposedly the prototype 410 that was made from Lefever Nitro Special barrels that Ithaca sent to Parker.

Photos from R.L. Wilson's book The Peacemakers. Note the grip checkering is highly unusual. Is that an attempt at a "B" for Ben?
